  • Very excited to be performing this summer just down the highway from my hometown in Southeast Iowa.  The Bart Howard Room in Burlington, Iowa is named for composer Bart Howard ("Fly Me To the Moon"), born and raised in the community.  He composed many more great songs and played for Mabel Mercer, Johnny Mathis, Eartha Kitt, among others.  Todd will be playing our show using Bart Howard's childhood piano.  What a treat!  It will also mark the launch of our new show, "Songs with a Twist of Lime: A Cabaret".

  • Omaha City Weekly (August 13, 2009) -- Mary Carrick, the "broad" in BroadStreet Theatre Company, is in rehearsal for a return engagement of "Some People", her award-winning cabaret - this time designated as "Second Helping." Generously glazed with laughs and sprinkled with a few surprises, the show won the 2008 Theatre Arts Guild award for best cabaret and mixes Broadway classics with the best of today's musical theatre. Tickling the ivories once again and adding a second layer of vocals is Todd Brooks, popular actor, pianist and raconteur. The two were last on stage together in BroadStreet’s “The Great American Trailer Park Musical” at the Bellevue Little Theatre, the show that garnered a gaggle of Theatre Arts Guild Award nominations and walked away with a half dozen trophies.
  • Featured soloist on "Feel the Revival" CD (Sacred Heart Freedom Choir, 2009)
